World Down Syndrome Day

On March 21st, our Augusta office wore their craziest and most colorful socks to promote World Down Syndrome Day.  The date is significant because people who have Down Syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome, and the chromosome-shape looks like a sock.  Augusta’s newest CADD operator, Laura, is not only skilled in lacrosse and soccer but has quite the arm too!  She scored the most points during the quick game of Put a Sock In It, where employees earned points throwing socks into pieces of leftover pipes from projects.  Alicia was voted as the person wearing the Craziest Socks.  She says her socks were not the craziest, but were definitely the Most Beautiful, because they displayed photos of her three grands.  Employees also donated money to the National Down Syndrome Society.

Field Inspector Training

Our Augusta office conducted an inspector training session March 3, 2023. Topics included inspection documentation, pipe pressure testing and disinfection calculations. Surveying techniques were also taught. Pictured are front row: Todd Self and Al Lawson and on the second row: Danny Cason, Brandon Smith, Dennis Martin and Bo Lamb.

McClellan Motorsports

Turnipseed Engineers is a proud sponsor of McClellan Motorsports. John McClellan, our Vice-President and Manager of our Augusta office, and his family are spending their weekend racing across the southeast. Dawson, John and Hope’s son, is the driver! This past winter they finished second in the Points Series at Checkered Flag Kartway. They had 4 pole positions out of 6, lead more laps than all others except the champion, and almost won a race. By finishing second in points, he qualified to race for the Maxxis National Championship at Iron City Motorplex in South Carolina. McClellan Motorsports’ motto is Always Learning, Always Improving and they are certainly doing that! Congratulations Dawson and your team!
